Johnny Depp and Russian dancer Polina Glen split: Report
Johnny Depp’s Russian girlfriend Polina Glen has reportedly called time on their relationship after finding the attention surrounding her “scary.”
The pair began dating while the actor, 56, was recovering from his tumultuous marriage and divorce from the actress Amber Heard.
Now, the 24-year-old dancer has apparently called it quits with the Sweeney Todd star and fled back to her homeland, with sources telling Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper she struggled to cope with the media scrutiny she received.
“Polina hated the attention the relationship was bringing her and found it scary,” they said. “She’s now keeping her head down in Russia and told Johnny plans to get married were madness.”
The dancer reportedly told pals weeks into their relationship that Depp was desperate to meet her father Gennady and her veterinarian mother Irina – who is four years younger than him.
However, the insider continued: “Despite sneers that Polina was only with Johnny for his fame, she kept her head down while living with him, going to her dance choreography job and then back to his house.
“His level of celebrity and his ongoing battle with Amber grew too much for her,” they added. “Johnny has been distracted by his feud with Amber and she didn’t think the time was right for them to commit to anything.”
Aquaman actress Amber is currently fighting a defamation lawsuit her former husband filed earlier this year (19), after she penned an article for The Washington Post, claiming she was a victim of domestic abuse, alluding to subsequently withdrawn allegations she made against Depp during their explosive divorce, which was finalised in January, 2017.
Johnny maintains he was never violent towards his then-wife and has called her allegations a “hoax.” The case is ongoing.
