MEGHAN MARKLE HAS POLITICAL AMBITIONS, ACCORDING TO LADY COLIN CAMPBELL
Writer Lady Colin Campbell, who was married to Lord Colin Ivar Campbell for 14 months, has written a book about Meghan and Harry that will be released soon. She states that one of the duchess's ambitions is to be president of the United States.
Although best known to some for her 2015 appearance on the show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here, Lady Colin Campbell is also a royal expert as the author of biographies of Diana and the Queen Mother, as well as a book on the marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. And now she offers her vision of the new generation of royalty.
In conversation with MailOnline, Lady Colin expresses: "I know that the Duchess of Sussex has political ambitions and I have been told that one day she wants to run for President. I think that all she is doing, leaving the Royal Family and returning to California, is part of her plan and has taken Harry with her. "
The Jamaican-born British author, who was married for 14 months to Lord Colin Ivar Campbell, the youngest son of the 11th Duke of Argyll, has a new book launching this week about the couple, titled Meghan and Harry: The Real Story. Speaking to the Sunday Times, Lady Colin stated that she felt Meghan had "wasted" the "most wonderful opportunity" by leaving the Royal Family. He claims that Meghan had been the subject of gossip at her home, Castle Goring in Worthing, West Sussex. According to Campbell, during a garden party for Prince Charles's 70th birthday, Meghan allegedly asked to leave after she had been photographed because she had been "bored": "We were all horrified, '' said Lady Colin," it was a sign of warning that Meghan was not going to adjust as well as I expected. "
In another interview with Australian television channel Channel Nine last week, Lady Colin called Meghan the "driving force" behind the couple's decision to resign as official royalty. "If you listen to her engagement interview, they both claim that she has been treated very well, that she has been received with open arms and they can't wait for her to become an active member of the Royal Family. Everything worked ... It didn't work for Meghan the way she thought she would ... Meghan didn't make the adjustment that she should have and could have, and she's the one, in my opinion, [who drove the outing]. "
