Michael Jackson vs. Justin Bieber: Are you kidding me?

Michael Jackson vs. Justin Bieber: Are you kidding me?

Some comparisons should never have been made and this is one of them.

There will always be comparisons in the art scene, and that leads to a lot of discussion among fans. And really everyone has their talents in different areas. However this comparison of Michael Jackson vs. Justin Bieber lacks any logic, and I say this with well-founded arguments.

For many it is somewhat unfair to compare someone who begins their career with an icon. However, following the death of Michael Jackson two years ago and the emergence of Justin Bieber, they began to compare them. There is no basis for it.

Regardless of Bieber's current level of fame, Michael Jackson from a young age showed an extraordinary talent, unique, an impeccable voice, a talent for dancing such as had rarely been seen. His childish voice was very high-pitched, but it already had great power.

That talent translated into an adult career that surpassed all expectations: records like "Off The Wall", "Thriller", "Bad" and "Dangerous" have sales and records for which we would need dozens of articles to analyze them. Number One, Guinness records, groundbreaking videos are part of Jackson's legacy. Besides, Michael always collaborated with his producers, it was not an invention of any of them. When Bieber lost his Grammy to Esperanza Spalding for Best New Artist, I immediately thought: the credibility of the Academy was not further damaged. If Michael had lost such an award, discontent would not have been long in coming because, unlike Bieber, he was genuinely talented.

Michael Jackson vs. Justin Bieber: Are you kidding me?

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rolling Stone Magazine, Billboard, Time Magazine, every trusted source of music considers Michael Jackson among the best ever. And despite his extravagances, and the way his scandals were diminishing his success, it was his music that always earned him such accolades.

Each generation has its artists but it is sad to see that this new wave has cardboard idols, passengers, whose news revolves around their courtships, haircuts, wild fans and other unimportant topics. There have been many Biebers (reminiscent of "Chamos", "New Kids On The Block", etc.). Michael Jackson was always unique, and will continue to be.

Within days of their death anniversary, this comparison sounds as ridiculous as Madonna vs. Miley Cyrus, The Beatles vs. Menudo or Janis Joplin vs. Hilary Duff. Times change, but in truth: a little musical culture is appreciated! And of course, Justin Bieber fans will prefer to insult: it is easier to swear than to debate an argument with criteria and foundations.

Final thought: if Michael had emerged in the middle of 2011, he would already have 50 million followers on Twitter and that is no exaggeration. What do you guys think about it?
