Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced Wednesday that they have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce documentaries and movies.
The couple indicated that they will develop, through a new production company they founded, "documentaries, docu-series, feature films, and children's programs" exclusive to the popular streaming platform, which has 193 million subscribers worldwide, according to The New York Times.
The announcement comes nine months after the couple announced their resignation as high-ranking members of the British royal family. Both made their exit in March and currently live in a mansion valued at $ 14 million in Santa Barbara, California.
Now they are ready to embark on their new careers in Hollywood. "Our focus will be on creating content that is informative but also hopeful," the couple told the newspaper in a statement. "As new parents, it is also important for us to create inspiring family programming."
"We are pleased to work with the Netflix team, whose unprecedented reach will help us share compelling content that compels us to take action," they added.
It is unknown how much money the couple will receive with this agreement but it is surely an important figure since this collaboration will be in force for several years.

Harry and Meghan will be behind the scenes, and the former "Suits" actress has made it clear that she has no plans to act again.
Thus, the dukes manage to establish themselves in Hollywood and at the same time the desired financial independence from the crown. Markle's first show business job after Megxit - as it became popularly known upon the departure of the royal couple - was as a narrator for the Disney Plus documentary series "Elephants," which came out in April. The Los Angeles native got the chance thanks to Harry's conversation with Disney president Bob Iger at the London premiere of the "The Lion King" remake last year.
The pay Markle received for the project went entirely to the Elephants Without Borders charity, an organization dedicated to conserving wildlife and helping to protect animals from poaching.
Harry followed in his wife's footsteps by appearing in a new Netflix documentary about the Paralympic Games called "Rising Phoenix," which aired on August 26. Last year, Elizabeth II's grandson announced that he would be partnering with Oprah Winfrey, a close friend of Markle, to make a documentary series for Apple TV + on mental health.
