Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio's ‘bromance’ was the best of the awards season

Brad Pitt thanked his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio in his Oscars speech, confirming that his 'bromance' is one of the best ever.

When Brad Pitt went up to pick up the 2020 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, he excitedly thanked a lot of people for the award: director Quentin Tarantino, his family, everyone who gave him a first chance in Hollywood ... But there was one person to which, in addition to thanking him, he dedicated an affectionate joke: to his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. “Leo, any day I will stick to your skirts, man. The view is wonderful ”.

Since (as we all subscribe) this awards season has been so boring, following Pitt and DiCaprio's friendship has probably been the most entertaining. True, we already appreciated their camaraderie on the Cannes interview circuit around Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood, but the respect and praise they professed for each other was not understood beyond typical castmate behavior.

We later found out that Pitt and DiCaprio were real friends. Friends of those who make pottery together while sharing sandwiches. "Brad has a sculpture workshop in his house and Leo loves to stop by and work for a while," reported the British tabloid The Sun. "Leo brings sandwiches from his favorite establishment, Fat Sal’s, and they hold boys' nights making crafts until the wee hours."

Already at the Golden Globes, things heated up a bit: "I also have my accomplice LDC to thank," Pitt said in his pickup speech. “Before The Revenant, I used to watch year after year how his co-stars would wake up to collect awards and thank him very much, and now I know why. He's a star, he's a gentleman ”. And he initialed with a great joke: "I would have shared the table with you", a nod to that internet theory according to which Jack and Rose from Titanic would have both fit perfectly in the door they shared at sea.

Twitter instantly went nuts: a funny and heartfelt speech, but… wait: really Pitt calls DiCaprio “LDC”?

The affectionate nickname, it turns out, is nothing to write home about compared to what DiCaprio calls him. A few weeks later, at the SAG Awards, Pitt revealed that the nickname Dicaprio dedicates to him is (roll ...) "Lover", that is, something like "gallant." "It baffles me a bit, but I play along," Pitt concluded in Entertainment Weekly.

A toast to these two lovebirds ... if only to the magic of Hollywood.
