Warner Bros asked him to resign from his Grindelwald character in which Johnny accepted.
Through his Instagram account, the actor Johnny Depp, announced that due to the controversy over the aggression towards his ex-wife, Amber Heard, he has decided to renounce his character as Magician Grindelwald in the "Fantastic Animals" movie.
In addition, he pointed out that Warner Bros asked him to resign his role in Fantastic Animals, for having lost the defamation suit against the newspaper "The Sun" for an article in which it was mentioned that the actor was aggressive.
"I want to let you know that Warner Bros has asked me to resign my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Animals and I have respected and agree to that request," said Johnny Depp.
However, Johnny Depp says the accusations against him are false and will continue to fight to bring the truth to light.
“My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the accusations against me are false. My life and my career will not be defined at this moment, ”says the actor.
For its part, Warner Bros also confirmed the news in a statement, mentioning that Grindelwald's role will be reorganized before the third "Fantastic Animals" film is released, which is expected to hit theaters in 2022.
