Meghan Markle admits her royal life isn't perfect
The Duchess of Sussex has revealed her most vulnerable side for the first time, recognizing that dealing with media pressure, royal commitments and motherhood at the same time has been exhausting.
In case there was any doubt, the life of royalty is not a fairy tale. And if you don't believe us, here's Meghan Markle to confirm it: The Duchess of Sussex has admitted for the first time that she hasn't been having a good time in recent months.
Prince Harry's wife has revealed her most vulnerable side in an interview for the documentary about her recent official trip to Africa, in which she has acknowledged (with tears in her eyes) that dealing with media pressure, royal commitments and motherhood at the same time has been quite exhausting.
"Look, any woman, especially when she is pregnant, is vulnerable," the ex-actress replied when the space host asked her about the protective attitude her husband has displayed in recent days. “And then when the newborn arrives… you know how those things are. As a woman, in particular, it is overwhelming. When to all that you add the pressure of being a new mother and a newlywed is… ”, she added.
But the true proof that all recent events have been taking their toll on the Duchess came in the following line: "Thanks for asking, because not many people have asked me if I'm okay. Things also happen that you don't always see."
Meghan's confession comes at a difficult time for the royal couple, who instead of dedicating themselves to enjoying their firstborn have had to start a legal battle against the tabloid press.
Just a few days ago, Harry, aware of the damage that the media harassment had caused her own mother, Lady Di, announced that she would initiate legal action against two British tabloids for alleged telephone hacking.
"I lost my mother and now I see my wife a victim of the same powerful forces. I have seen what happens when a loved one becomes merchandise to the point that they are no longer treated as a real being," expressed the minor grandson of Queen Elizabeth II through a statement. "Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the victims of a British tabloid press campaigning against people without thinking about the consequences - a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son, "he added.
The Duke of Sussex ended his claim by making it clear that, above his status within royalty, there is the welfare of his family.
"Although we have continued to put on a good face, as many of you can imagine it is difficult to describe how painful it has been. Because in today's digital age the inventions of the press are taken as truth all over the world." @worldly
