Meghan Markle's father offers public apology to his daughter and asks to meet his grandson
Again Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, used the media to send a message to the Duchess of Saussex and Prince Harry, asking them to allow him to meet his grandson since preventing it is a "hypocritical" attitude on the part from both.
Through an interview with the British newspaper Daily Mail, Markle commented that she hopes one day to see her grandson Archie or that her daughter will at least send her a photograph of the little boy, something that has not happened yet.
“I'd like you to send me a picture of Archie so I can frame it and put it on my wall next to Meghan's… Isn't that what any grandfather would want? I would love to know if you have Markle's famous nose, "said the 74-year-old during the" unpaid "interview she offered to the aforementioned medium.
“Sometimes I have the feeling that people think I don't love my daughter… I love her very much. I would like nothing more than to put a picture of Archie in a frame and place it next to Meghan's. Of course, I am disappointed not to see Archie. I was hoping that by becoming a mother he would grow closer, ”he said.
This interview takes place at a time when nobody expected it, since Thomas Markle would have decided to keep a low profile for a few months; however after his reappearance he clarifies that he was absent trying to prevent the duchess from being nervous during his pregnancy.
"I have kept quiet because Meghan was pregnant with Archie, but now I am speaking because they and their public relations employees continue to cut me out of her life," he said.
Likewise, Markle commented that for Meghan's birthday he sent her a card to congratulate her, which she sent through her financial advisor in Los Angeles, however she does not know if she would have received it or not.
The former actress's decision to move away from her father is due to the fact that he sold a photo session to the paparazzi a few months before her wedding to Prince Harry took place, during the month of May 2018.
“It was a big mistake. I wanted to publicly apologize to the royal family, but Meghan and Harry told me not to… So I texted Jason Knauf, who was then Harry and Meghan's press secretary, and he asked me what I would like to say. I said that I wanted to apologize to the Queen and that I didn't want to hurt. My apology was never published. I don't know why, ”Thomas lamented.
The duchess's father also took the opportunity to refute what his daughter pointed out that she had paid for her studies at Northwestern University, assuring that this is completely false.
“Sorry, but that's completely untrue. I paid every penny of her tuition and I have the bank statements to prove it. I paid for her trips to Spain and England and her internship in Argentina ”, said Markle.
The award-winning Hollywood lighting director said that he was “proud” to have been able to afford his daughter's education, and regretted the fact that his daughter decided to move away in this way, leaving aside what he has done for her.
“Meghan says she wants nothing to do with me… I'm sure the reporters are checking Northwestern to see who paid for the school. You can't change history… I'm sick of the lies. I'm sick of being despised and excluded from their lives. I always kept my responsibilities as a father. Meghan's comments about paying for college are offensive to me, ”claimed the duchess's father.
“I feel sorry for them in some way. You can't say one thing and do another… Everyone says how wonderful they are, but they are not wonderful to their own family. That is hypocritical. You can't be charitable and bring people together and then avoid your own father and your entire family. Her treatment of me has left much to be desired, "the actress's father said angrily.
In May 2018 Thomas Markle suffered a heart attack that prevented him from accompanying his daughter and taking her to the altar, however, from that moment on, he did not have any kind of contact with her again and claims to suffer the consequences of the tough position assumed by Meghan of not leaving him meet his grandson Archie.
According to what has been pointed out by some British Medes, Prince Harry's wife assures that this decision was taken to guarantee the safety of her family, "to protect herself, her husband and her son."
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, was born on May 6 in the city of London occupying the seventh position in the line of succession to the British throne; in which his grandfather, Prince Charles of England, is located first; his uncle William; his three cousins; then his father, Prince Harry, and finally him, who at the moment does not have a royal title by decision of his parents.
