PIERCE BROSNAN IS CLEAR IN WHAT HIS JAMES BOND FILMS FAILED
Pierce Brosnan is as frustrated with his James Bond movies as the rest of the world. In a recent interview, the actor has confessed that he is not at all satisfied with some of the decisions made at that time, of which he is not very proud.
It seems that Pierce Brosnan is not entirely satisfied with his season of drinking martinis, flirting with beautiful ladies and taking down the bad guys. The actor who played James Bond in up to four films has opened up to Total Film magazine 15 years after leaving the franchise after 'Die Another Day'. And the truth is that nothing turned out as the actor expected.
"There was some frustration growing inside me as the films progressed, that I saw what was happening with the world around me and with the films," Brosnan confesses in the publication. "I wanted Bond to be a little bit drier and more real. Dirtier and depressed, but the scripts and settings were getting more and more outlandish."
The actor is undoubtedly referring to the fact that he was seeking to play a Bond more in the style of Daniel Craig. A gross Bond, disheveled, with very bad milk, but always elegant. Something that has worked really well for the franchise, but that is difficult to imagine driving an invisible car or surfing on a terribly unreal wave of CGI.
But Brosnan has apologized to his fans claiming that he only wanted to go with the flow ("go with the flow") and let those responsible for the franchise carry with him, even if this meant its decline. "I had a great time on 'Die Another Day,'" he says. "There were a lot of things that I read in the script and they were ridiculous, like the invisible car, but I just tried to do the best I could and believe in the writers."
"It can really give you a big headache and a lot of stress trying to make a little sense of creativity," concludes Brosnan, apologizing, in a way, for the terrible decisions of the screenwriters of the films.
