Taylor Swift, the singer who has earned the most in 2019
The artist has raised 167 million euros and doubles Beyoncé's income, according to the list published by 'Forbes' magazine and which also includes Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Shakira
If Taylor Swift kept a relatively low profile last year, with no releases or big appearances, it is clear that in 2019 she is willing to remedy it. As is customary for her, every pitch, move and word she utters becomes news, and that is why she turns everything she touches to gold. Something that has led her to become the highest paid female singer of all this 2019. And she has managed to rise on the podium with no less than 185 million dollars, almost 167 million euros.
Swift, who will turn 30 in December, is at the top of the list and by far. She is followed by Beyoncé, whose earnings she manages to double. According to Forbes magazine, which analyzes the income of the ten singers who have earned the most this year, Swift's fortune has grown so much because of her Reputation Stadium Tour, that she broke records by reaping 266 million (240 million euros) in the United States. In addition, she has signed a succulent contract with Universal Republic Records and has released a new album, Lover, which was released on August 23. At the end of the year she will also appear in the film version of the movie Cats.
The figures represent a huge leap for Swift who in 2009, when she started her career, earned a tenth of what now, 16.2 million euros). Thanks to everything accumulated during her 10-year career, she has tried to buy the rights to her previous six studio works, which a few weeks ago her representative, the tycoon Scooter Braun, took away from her. Now, to regain control, she has announced that she is going to re-record those six albums.
The blonde singer from Pennsylvania is followed by Beyoncé. The interpreter of Crazy in Love has entered this year 81 million dollars (73 million euros), remaining in a second millionaire position. Beyoncé Knowles has achieved them, details the economic publication, thanks to her album Homecoming and her On The Run II tour with her husband, also musician Jay Z.
Third place goes to Rihanna, with income —55.8 million euros— that comes largely from her fashion and beauty lines with her Fenty brand, which will now be expanded upon having reached an agreement with the great conglomerate of the luxury LVMH.
In fourth place on the list is Katy Perry, with 51.7 million euros that she has achieved thanks to her tours; in the fifth Pink, with almost the same (51.3 million euros) and in the sixth Ariana Grande, only 20 years old and who this year debuts in this compilation thanks to her 43 million, which she has achieved thanks to two albums which he has released six months apart.
The publication explains that the profits are calculated with what these stars have earned between June 2018 and June 2019, always taking into account the income obtained before paying taxes, figures obtained from companies in the sector and from market experts, and even directly from the stars themselves. "The fees of agents and lawyers have not been deducted," they detail.
In addition, they report that the global earnings of the list have increased: in total, the 10 highest paid artists earned 581 million euros, which is 28% more than the 452 million last year. However, men still earn more than women in the music industry.
The rest of the list is completed by other powerful names such as Jennifer Lopez (38.7 million euros) just in her 50s; Lady Gaga with 35.6 million euros thanks to her Netflix documentary and her successful role as Ally in A Star Is Born, which earned her an Oscar for Best Song; Celine Dion, with 33.8 euros, whose fortune is in danger due to a claim of 500 million by her former representatives; and the Colombian Shakira, who since last June and also partly thanks to her world tour has earned 31.5 million euros.
