Disney's production is called 'Elephant' and it premiered in 'streaming' this April 3.

The actress and former Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, surprised the world with her participation in the film 'Elephant', a Disney documentary that premiered on April 3 on the streaming services of the film giant. But, in addition to surprise, the new appearance of Markle on the screens generated a shower of criticism.

The artist has had to be subjected to a major media exposure due to the decision that she and her partner, Prince Harry, made to resign from British royalty in January this year. However, that has not prevented the actress from collaborating with other projects in other areas.

Although many have interpreted her participation in the film as daring and disinterested, this has not made her immune to the contentious opinions of critics. Some reviews have pointed to Markle as being too cloying and cheesy at her job.

Among the harshest mediums with the production were the British 'The Mirror', which calls the film "cheesy to the point of grinding", and 'The Times', which criticizes the actress for being too overwhelmed by emotion in scenes of the documentary that are rather inconsequential.

"Meghan traded in the royal tiara for Mickey Mouse ears," wrote film critic Clarisse Loughrey in the British daily 'The Independent'. Loughrey notes the ease with which Markle adapts to the "Disney tone, as it is bright, clear and a little without grace", according to the critics.

In the same vein, other critics have recalled that, being a Disney Nature project film, that extremely sweet tone is just what is needed.

"When I heard Meghan Markle's voice, my first thought was that she was doing a terrible job. But then I realized that this was exactly how the movie was supposed to sound," says a review from 'Vanity Fair' magazine .

Many others have gone further and pointed to the decision to include Markle in the documentary as a marketing strategy. Theory that makes sense due to the great amount of attention that the film has had for the participation of the former Duchess of Sussex.

In fact, in the trailer for 'Elephant', which was available for a few days, the voice of Meghan Markle did not appear, probably with the intention of generating expectation among the public.
