Johnny Depp in talks to star in Tim Burton's The Addams Family series
Johnny Depp could be the one chosen by Tim Burton to star in his live action series The Addams Family.
Johnny Depp may have been forced to give up one of the roles that was giving him the most joy lately, especially financially, but this does not mean that an actor of his stature has lost all his friends in the industry.
Yes, Johnny Depp may no longer be playing Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts saga, and Warner may have found a replacement for him really quick, but that doesn't mean the actor doesn't have any big projects left to embark on, like the one being developed by one of his most faithful and unique friends in the film industry: director Tim Burton.
As announced a month ago, the director is developing a new live-action series of The Addams Family, which still does not have a filming start date, no cast, not even a network or streaming service that broadcasts it ( although everyone points to it being Netflix), but as We Got This Covered reports, the casting process could have already begun for the actor who would play the patriarch of the family.

And according to the website, that would be none other than Johnny Depp, who has worked tirelessly with Burton since they both succeeded with Eduardo Scissorhands, however their cinematographic relationship was somewhat diminished with the premiere of Dark Shadows, a collaboration that did not work even for the actor nor for the director. If it were finally confirmed that Depp is going to play Gomez Addams, we could talk about a new victory for internet casting, as he had already been selected by users in that role, like Evan Green as Morticia.
