Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, the origin of their rivalry: some stockings
An event that occurred during the preparations for the actress's wedding with Prince Harry triggered the harsh confrontation that exists between the duchesses.
Kensington Palace has had to deal with the publication of a report that has not been to its liking. Tatler magazine has dedicated its summer issue to Kate Middleton (38 years old) with an extensive report entitled Catherine the Great -Catalina the Great-, in a comparison with the Russian empress.
The text is signed by the acclaimed journalist Anna Pasternak, an expert in the British Royal Household who claims to have very relevant testimonies from the Duchess's closest circle.
Among the things that this report has, what stands out the most is the origin of the confrontation with Meghan Markle (38). Much had been said about the bad relationship that both sisters-in-law could have. Although at first it seemed that they got along perfectly, and the actress looked for the example in the wife of Prince William (37), the waters began to muddy when the commitment between the American and Harry (35) became real.
The reason for the dispute between the two women was a pair of stockings, something so insignificant that it seems illogical but which, according to Anna Pasternak, marked a before and after in their relationship.
The confrontation for these stockings occurred at the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The Duchess of Cambridge wanted the ladies of honor - one of them was her daughter Charlotte (5) - to wear stockings under their dresses because that was the protocol.
For her part, Meghan was against it because she considered that the little ones were going to be hot and uncomfortable when their wedding was celebrated on May 19.
Finally the bride won and Kate was made up and without stockings. A tension that would have grown until this January the Dukes of Sussex announced their departure from the British Royal House. This decision would not have pleased the wife of Prince William either, who feels that this situation will increase their workload.
In response to this report, the House of the Dukes of Cambridge has rushed to deny some information and to ensure that the information provided by the journalist is not entirely true. Yet it does not say anything about whether the issue of the 'stockings of discord' is true or not, an administrative silence that could put on the track that it was a real event.
The dream wedding turned into a nightmare
On May 19, 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married in a romantic ceremony that had all the makings of a fairy tale. A wedding that was followed by 300 million spectators -among which Spain stood out- who, excited, saw in the couple the future of the British Royal Family, the lovers who would bring an air of change to the so corseted Royal House of the United Kingdom. Two years later, however, the reality is very different and far from becoming engines of change for the institution, Harry and Meghan have revealed themselves and away from the British Royal Family.
At present, both the son of Lady Di and the former American actress have ceased to be active members of the Royal House, have established their residence in Los Angeles, maintain a tense relationship with Elizabeth II (94) and a large part of the members of the Royal family; and they have declared war on the British tabloids.
731 days after the link that kept millions of viewers in suspense. The ceremony that brought celebrities and royals together, and that was the prelude to one of the media hurricanes that have most disrupted the British Royal Family. The link that left 1,200 million euros of profit for the United Kingdom and in which the bride lost 10 kilos of weight.
