Melania Trump stars on the cover of ‘Vanity Fair’ Mexico
The first lady of the United States delves into the relationship with her husband, her family and is against aesthetic operations
In the midst of a strong political crisis between the United States and Mexico, Melania Trump stars in the new issue of the Mexican edition of Vanity Fair magazine. The February cover shows a smiling first lady dressed in white, with a plate full of jewels that she pretends to be twisting around her fork as if she were eating pasta. The report is an interview in which she talks about her relationship with Donald Trump, her family and in which she also shows herself against cosmetic operations.
Her statements already appeared last April in an article in GQ magazine - also by the Condé Nast publishing group. But that moment were still far from the US presidential elections that were held on November 8 and in which the Republican magnate won the victory. In the interview, Melania Trump, 46, reflects her position of "not going into politics or legislative matters", because her husband is "the one who deals with those things." Of the advice she gives to Trump she says: "No one finds out and no one will ever find out, all that remains between my husband and me."
Melania recounts how she met her husband during a fashion week in New York. She then did not want to give him her phone number, and what she did was ask him, because she "wanted to see what her intentions were". "There was a lot of chemistry between us, but his fame did not impress me. It is possible that he noticed," says Melania, according to the advance provided by Vanity Fair on the number that has gone on sale this Friday.
She claims that no one controls her, that she travels with Trump when she can and that her husband is "very supportive." "If I tell him 'I'm going to take a bath or they are going to give me a massage,' he doesn't object," says the former model of Slovenian origin who became a US citizen in 2006.
He is also against "botox and injections", because he considers them harmful "for the face and for the nerves", and says that he has never used these methods: "Everything is mine. I will grow old with dignity, as it happens to me mother".
The magazine also rescues the testimony of Melania's stepbrother, Denis Cigelnjak, the result of a relationship his father had with a woman from his town, Sevnica (Slovenia), before marrying the mother of the current first lady of the United States. Being questioned about this issue, Melania told the publication that the existence of her stepbrother has known her "for years", and asked to respect her father's privacy.
Melania Kanuss is the third wife of the president of the 45th United States Donald Trump (who has previously been married to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples, with whom he had a total of four children), and they are the parents of the 10-year-old Barron.
