Prince William's lawyers warn of actions against media who reported that he misled Kate Middleton
Different publications in the United States and the United Kingdom have claimed in recent weeks that Prince William was unfaithful to his wife and mention one of his alleged friends.
Media, such as The Sun and In Touch, assured that Prince William has had an affair with the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Rose Hanbury, who was supposedly close friends with Kate Middleton and appears with the dukes in this photo.
"Kate immediately confronted the Duke of Cambridge, but he laughed that there was nothing," In Touch said, citing an anonymous source.
A few days ago some alleged images circulated in which a man similar to the future king of England is observed in a nightclub in the company of a woman who could be Hanbury.
The issue of alleged infidelity by the 36-year-old Duke of Cambridge has had such an impact that it could have strong legal implications.
Through the law firm Harbottle and Lewis, which has represented the royal family on other occasions, a statement was issued warning future legal actions against the media that, knowing that it is false, publish a note about the alleged infidelity of the Duke of Cambridge.
"In addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculations regarding the private lives of our clients also constitutes a violation of their privacy in accordance with Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights," the statement read .
The Daily Beast is the medium that has made the existence of this document public, although it was not specified which media have received it.
This post did seek the opinion of Duncan Larcombe, an expert on British royalty and who was even invited to William and Kate's wedding in 2011.
"Using a legal letter from William as future king is a move of last resort," Duncan Larcombe told The Daily Beast.
"While traditionally the British royal family would not take specific legal action, William and Harry are willing to do it in their own way," Larcombe added.
On the other hand, Richar Kay, an expert on royalty and who boasts a very good relationship with the British royal family, published that the alleged affair is totally false.
“A familiar source told me: 'These hurtful rumors are simply false. William and David (husband of Rose Hanbury and who appears in this photo next to the future king) were recently in contact, not knowing whether to laugh or complain, '"Kay wrote a few days ago.
The royal expert assured that it is not true that Kate Middelton and Rose Hanbury are great friends, as published by The Sun.
“They are not part of a close social circle. They don't even remotely have an intimate friendship, "said Kay.
