Queen Elizabeth II closes and final with Meghan Markle and Harry: forbids them to use 'Sussex Royal'

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will no longer be able to use the Sussex Royal brand, even if they planned to make it their emblem and the name of their foundation. It's official and categorical, and the order comes from the Queen herself. A spokesperson for the couple has just confirmed it via a press release this Friday, February 21.

If it was known that Queen Elizabeth II did not want Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to use the "Sussex Royal" brand, the Duchess believed that, legally, nothing was preventing her from doing so. In response to those who doubt the legitimacy of her objection, the monarch persists and signs. This Friday, February 21, Omid Scobie, specialist in royal families for the American magazine Harper's Bazaar, shared on his Twitter account an official statement in which a spokesperson for the Sussex couple expresses himself in a very radical way about the decision of the queen, who seems to displease Meghan and Harry who had spent a fortune to market the brand.

"With the Duke and Duchess focused on their plan to establish a charity and given the UK government specific laws as to the use of the word 'Royal', it has been decided that their founding, when announced in the spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation ", one can read. To media reporting that Meghan and Harry will still use the name, it is assured that "the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use 'SussexRoyal' in any territory from spring 2020".

The Sussex Royal brand was registered in June 2019, for the exploitation of derivative products. Now that they have left the royal family to start a new life in North America - in Canada and probably soon in California - this is no longer relevant. The couple's spokesperson concludes: "Trademark applications, made with a preventive purpose following the advice of the Royal Foundation - whose model they have reproduced - have been canceled." Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have left the royal family, and with it, their entrepreneurial opportunities.
