CHELSEA CLINTON DEFENDS BARRON TRUMP, MOQUÉ FOR HIS CLOTHING

The 11-year-old boy, Donald Trump's last child, was targeted by a conservative site that criticized his way of dressing, deemed not chic enough for a son of a president.

Support from the opposing clan. On Monday, Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron, received somewhat peculiar support as he was subjected to online teasing about his clothes, the Washington Post reported.

Deemed poorly dressed

On Monday evening, the conservative site The Daily Caller published an article to attack the youngest child of the American president, and in particular the outfit he wore the day before to board Air Force One. Barron Trump, 11, was pictured alongside his parents on the tarmac at Morristown, New Jersey airport on Sunday, wearing a screen-printed red t-shirt, beige Bermuda shorts, and moccasins, beige too. "It is high time that Barron Trump began to dress as if he was in the White House", headlined The Daily Caller, believing that the teenager does not wear sufficiently chic clothes.

"On several occasions Barron has proven that he is a normal 11 year old, despite the fact that his father is the President of the United States, and he lives in the White House. However, not normal is the way he dresses when he joins his parents for public appearances, "the website wrote.

Stream of criticism

“Remember those times when your parents forced you to dress for special occasions, when you were a kid. (...) It doesn't happen that way with the president's youngest child. Donald Trump and Melania always leave the White House on their 31s. (...) But Barron appeared with a t-shirt, khaki shorts and suede moccasins ", we can read. And the author of the article added: "Young Barron looks like he's climbing into Air Force One to get to the movies."

Comments that have earned the site many criticisms. Several personalities from the political world, but also celebrities, or even lambda Internet users, have stepped up to denounce the "shameful" remarks of The Daily Caller.

Chelsea Clinton steps up to the plate

Heavy support came in particular from Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, well-placed to comment on the situation given her own experience as a teenager growing up in the White House. The young woman was indeed 12 years old when she moved in with her parents in the presidential residence in Washington, practically the same age as Barron Trump.

"It is high time that the media and everyone else left Barron Trump alone, and let him have the private childhood he deserves," tweeted Chelsea Clinton, who had played a leading role in his campaign. mother for the 2016 presidential election, where she was opposed to Donald Trump.

Does Chelsea Clinton want to show her solidarity with the young Barron, who lives the same situation as she a few years later? In any case, this is not the first time that she has flown to his rescue. Last January, when the Trump family had just moved to the White House, she wrote, already on Twitter:

"Barron Trump deserves the chance every child should have to be a child. Fighting for every child also means fighting against the policies of the President of the United States that hurt them."

The little boy had indeed been the subject of many mockeries since his father's victory in the presidential election on November 8, 2016, and his actions had been widely scrutinized and commented on. Thus, when Donald Trump gave his first speech, the young Barron, then aged 10, was criticized for having yawned or staring into space.
