The 11-year-old boy, Donald Trump's last child, was targeted by a conservative site that criticized his way of dressing, deemed not chic enough for a son of a president.

On Monday evening, the conservative site The Daily Caller published an article to attack the youngest child of the American president, and in particular the outfit he wore the day before to board Air Force One. Barron Trump, 11, was pictured alongside his parents on the tarmac at Morristown, New Jersey airport on Sunday, wearing a screen-printed red t-shirt, beige Bermuda shorts, and moccasins, beige too. "It is high time that Barron Trump began to dress as if he was in the White House", headlined The Daily Caller, believing that the teenager does not wear sufficiently chic clothes.
"On several occasions Barron has proven that he is a normal 11 year old, despite the fact that his father is the President of the United States, and he lives in the White House. However, not normal is the way he dresses when he joins his parents for public appearances, "the website wrote.
Stream of criticism
“Remember those times when your parents forced you to dress for special occasions, when you were a kid. (...) It doesn't happen that way with the president's youngest child. Donald Trump and Melania always leave the White House on their 31s. (...) But Barron appeared with a t-shirt, khaki shorts and suede moccasins ", we can read. And the author of the article added: "Young Barron looks like he's climbing into Air Force One to get to the movies."
Comments that have earned the site many criticisms. Several personalities from the political world, but also celebrities, or even lambda Internet users, have stepped up to denounce the "shameful" remarks of The Daily Caller.
Chelsea Clinton steps up to the plate
Heavy support came in particular from Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, well-placed to comment on the situation given her own experience as a teenager growing up in the White House. The young woman was indeed 12 years old when she moved in with her parents in the presidential residence in Washington, practically the same age as Barron Trump.
