Coronavirus emergency: the United States is the most affected country in the world, but Donald Trump is not wearing a mask.

At first glance it might seem like a trivial question, linked more to the aesthetics of the character than to the substance of what is happening in America.
But behind the president's bare face there is a whole world, there is a whole slew of answers.
Which help to understand it, for those interested in understanding it and not just criticizing it.
Which even help to predict what could happen between now and next November 3, the date of presidential elections and therefore of an appointment with history.
And so why?
1) Because the image is involved, of course. That of the so-called "alpha male" who, more in dictatorship than in democracy (read Putin, for example), cannot and does not want to indulge in insecurity. And that, on the contrary, he is called to flaunt strength and even invincibility. Two aspects that this administration artfully relaunches in every medical bulletin on the health of a tycoon that the opposition would like to be "obese" and "full of ailments" and that his entourage instead blinds in the perimeter of the "perfect state".
2) Because the economy is involved. Trump uncovered sends a signal stronger than his words, however much he may yell at her. "Here we are, we are about to reopen," he seems to be shouting at the cameras, at his supporters and above all at those entrepreneurs who will finance the election campaign through their donations. An interest that is certainly smaller than the numbers of GDP and (dis) employment, but nevertheless of fundamental importance. Especially for him.
3) Because the electoral campaign is involved, in fact. And we cannot run the risk, as he himself said, of "appearing ridiculous" or worse still of "sending the wrong message".
Wrong message that according to the Democrats is that of a president who recommends caution to his people, but who at the same time violates them on the open scene.
Wrong message that according to Trump is that of a nation that yields to fear, that allows itself to be paralyzed by fear, that must rise from fear to revive the American Dream.
And also his dream of him. To be re-elected.
