Even Ivanka Trump in the investigation on the taxes evaded by Donald: the tax trick on consultancy

In two independent investigations in New York, the daughter of the outgoing president is also involved, under investigation with his company for having avoided paying taxes due in the last 20 years. Among the suspicious deductions, for an amount of 26 million, there are also consultations paid to Ivanka Trump, who is also an executive of the company

The investigations began with the New York Times investigation into the last 20 years of Donald Trump's tax returns, from which it emerged that the outgoing president managed to pay very little taxes, motivating them with constant losses from the Trump organization. The New York Times investigation also revealed that Trump had managed to reduce his taxable income thanks to hefty deductions, some $ 26 million spent between 2010 and 2018 on unspecified consultancy assignments for corporate projects. Points on which various Trump organization executives will be called to clarify before the magistrates, for which the related subpoenas have started.

Part of that 26 million would go to Ivanka Trump, as evidenced by her 2017 tax return. The Times uncovered a suspicious coincidence on a figure Ivanka Trump declared as advice when she became an advisor to the US president. Ivanka Trump's tax return shows payments of $ 747,622, which would have come from a consulting firm she co-owned. That same figure, however, corresponds exactly to the amount of consulting fees that went into obtaining tax deductions from the Trump Organization, in particular for hotel projects in Hawaii, Vancouver and British Columbia.

Another suspicious aspect is the role in which Ivanka Trump appears in these operations: despite being an executive of the Trump Organization, Donald Trump's daughter was treated by her company as a consultant, but apparently without the necessary justifications. The rules laid down by the American tax authorities require that, in the event of deductions on payments for professional fees, companies must demonstrate that those expenses are necessary and in line with market figures.
