Meghan Markle: Why Prince Harry is angry
It's Christmas and Prince Harry is angry. Meghan Markle's husband is grumpy, as the Brits say. Grumpy. Irritable. Why angry, in fact.
Not even at the time of Diana and the clashes with Carlo, probably, the Royal Family had a Christmas like this. Which hasn't actually arrived yet. But that promises to be 'hellish'.
Will Kate Middleton & William, Meghan Markle & Harry be able to smile at each other at least on December 24th, the day before, exchanging gifts? And on the 25th at the family mass?
Meanwhile, the English press is all about this new Harry. He, the most beloved royal of the realm according to the polls. The dirty Harry of when he was a young prince who combined all the colors is a distant memory.
Even Harry in love: sweet, affectionate, dreamy look ... It no longer exists. Someone even looks nostalgically at the red-haired child who was sticking his tongue out at photographers, squeezed between mum Diana and the more serious older brother William ...
All past. Harry is grumpy today. Grumpy. Irascible. Irritable. Nothing would be enough, say the palace insiders, to make him angry. Why has it changed so much?
And then they started to investigate. To find the whys of this new Harry. Which, of course, does not like. Much better is the sunny and friendly and always smiling Harry we knew before the Royal Wedding.
The two magic words are already these. The most important moment of his life has turned into hell in the following months. The woman in his life, Meghan Markle, is giving him a Royal Baby, but also a lot of problems.
The British press, from the Daily Mail to Cosmopolitan, headlines Harry is grumpy. And they explain it by the fact that the prince finds himself squeezed between the Markle family and the Windsors.
The very difficult 'management' of Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, and half-sister Samantha Markle. The first who gives interviews. The second threatens participation in reality shows and shocking biographies.
But the relationship with William has also changed. Harry, now that he is 'married', was trying to make a space for himself. To have more autonomy. Also a separate office.
In cascade, however, all this would have led to the separation between the two. At work. And in the private sector. With Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle too different to love each other.
Add the stress and competition to which the two would be subjected at the Palazzo and by the planetary media: who is the most beautiful, the most fashionable, the most loved in the realm? Obviously William is with Kate and Harry with Meghan ...
Finally, and it is the reason that struck me most, someone is talking about the 'ghost Margaret'. Harry would be grumpy, grumpy and short-tempered because he feels destined to be like Princess Margaret, Elizabeth's younger sister. This would be his nightmare.
Margaret was beautiful, sunny, the nicest in the family. Elizabeth loved it. It is said that the worst time in her life (back then) was when she had to refuse her permission to marry a divorced man, whom she loved and by whom she was loved. Peter Townsend, his name was. And he lived in Adelaide Cottage, which Meghan and Harry know well ...
They say it was also thinking back to her that the queen 'accepted' that Harry would marry divorced American Meghan Markle.
In the new season of The Crown, she is played by Helena Bonham Carter. Margaret was the queen's sister all her life. An apparently splendid life. Unable to truly reign, she became the queen of jet set, as the celebrity world was then called.
She married the photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones to whom Elizabeth gave the title of Earl of Snowdon. She had two royal babies. She divorced. She split up with Hollywood friends, villa parties in the Caribbean, charities, ceremonies with her sister.
Just like Harry's, her role was so "unstructured that she could do anything, but she felt like nothing," say Royal Family experts. She did not have a country to govern, a mission for which the life of Elizabeth and William has been marked since her birth ...
Harry is grumpy because, like Margaret, he "can do anything but he feels like nothing". Also for this reason, his first Christmas as a husband of Meghan Markle is certainly not merry ...
