Melania opens her voice about Trump's mass rioting in the Capitol

Donald Trump supporters storm the Congress Building on Capitol Hill, Washington, United States (US) last January 6. They came to protest over the victory of the new US President, Joe Biden.

This made Melania Trump react. Donald Trump's wife said she was disappointed why the demonstrations took place in the Capitol last week due to her husband's supporters.

The 50-year-old woman also slammed people who had used the tragic incident to spread lewd gossip, unwarranted personal attacks and false and misleading accusations about her.

The remarks marked the first lady's first public comment in five days since a violent group of Trump supporters, angry at Trump's election loss and being driven by the president himself.

"I am disappointed by what happened last week. I find it a shame that around this tragic event there are lewd gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false accusations that are misleading me from people who want to be relevant and have an agenda, "he wrote in a White House blog post as quoted by the South China Morning Post.

"This time it is solely about healing our country and its citizens. This must not be used for personal gain. Our nation must heal civilians. Make no mistake about it, I totally condemn the violence that has occurred in our country's Capitol. Violence has never been acceptable."

He also urged people to stop the violence. Not judging people by their skin color or using different political ideologies as a basis for aggression and cruelty.

But Melania did not comment on her husband or his role in encouraging his supporters to go to the Capitol.

Trump has spent weeks insisting he won the November 3 election, with allegations of fraud widespread despite the absence of evidence.

A number of state and federal officials, including former US Attorney General William Barr, said there was no evidence of fraud on a scale large enough to influence the results.

Trump encouraged his supporters to flock to Washington last Wednesday, the day set for Congress to approve the presidential election. After addressing a rally near the White House where he urged supporters to keep fighting, they stormed the Capitol.

Because of this incident at least five people, including a Capitol police officer, died.
