Melania Trump reveals her son Barron tested positive for COVID-19
The coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the president of the United States, Donald Trump, as well as some members of his family, after the same president minimized the danger of covid-19 for several months, despite his country tops the list of those with the most infections and deaths caused by the virus. According to official figures from Johns Hopkins University, in the US there are 7,899,313 cases and 216,513 deaths from coronavirus.
It is worth mentioning that the American president was forced to stay in a military hospital on the outskirts of Washington to receive treatment for the coronavirus, taking into account that he is at a very important moment for the campaign ahead of the presidential elections of the next November 3.
In addition to him, his wife Melania Trump was also affected by the virus and she herself revealed that his son Barron Trump, 14, also had covid-19.
Recently, the White House published a text written by the first lady of the United States in which she talks about her personal experience with the coronavirus and in which she confessed the fear she felt when it was confirmed that her son had positive.
According to the statement, after both she and the president learned that both had contracted the disease, on October 2, "her mind immediately went to her son" and she felt great relief to learn that Barron Trump gave negative in the test. "As many parents have thought over the past few months, I couldn't help but think, 'what happens tomorrow or the next day?" The first lady wrote.
However, as she herself described it, "her fear came true when she was tested again and it came back positive." But, in turn, Melania Trump asserted that fortunately her son Barron "is a strong teenager" and indicated that he did not present symptoms of the coronavirus, different from the case of her father, Donald Trump. “In a way, I was glad that the three of us went through this at the same time so that we could take care of each other and spend time together,” she said.
This was the only information the first lady gave, in order to protect the privacy of her son. She gave no further explanation as to why Barron Trump's diagnosis was not released at the same time that she and President Donald Trump became known. On the other hand, her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, said that "Barron tested negative and all precautions are being taken to ensure that he remains safe and healthy."
Later, in the text, Melania Trump pointed out that in her personal case she was “very lucky” due to the minimal symptoms of covid-19 that she presented with her diagnosis, although in the following days “it seemed to be a roller coaster symptoms ”. “I experienced body aches, coughs, and headaches, and I felt extremely tired most of the time. I chose to take a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food, ”she wrote.
Coronavirus reinfection, a challenge for doctors and scientists
“I am pleased to report that I have tested negative and hope to resume my duties as soon as possible. Along with this good news, I want people to know that I understand how fortunate my family is to have received the kind of care that we receive, "said Melania Trump.
“If you are sick or if you have a loved one who is sick, I am thinking of you and I will be thinking of you every day. I pray for our country and for all those who are dealing with covid-19 and any other disease or challenge, ”she concluded.
