MELANIA WAS IN A PHOTO SESSION IN THE WHITE HOUSE DURING THE CAPITOL STORM
Melania participated in a photo session at the White House on Wednesday while one of the moments that will mark the history of the United States took place very close to her presidential residence: the assault on the Capitol by followers of Donald Trump, instigator of the violent takeover of the United States Congress. And when this happened, Melania continued with the session for a supposed book on decoration in the days of her first lady of the White House.
CNN has revealed that professional photographers were taking photos of "rugs and other items in the Residence and the East Wing," a person familiar with Melania's activities told the television network. She has specified that when the coup plotters entered the Capitol, flashes could be seen through the windows of the White House, something that, however, the first lady's cabinet has not confirmed. In fact, the people closest to Melania so far, her spokesperson and chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, and her secretary for Social Communications, Anna Nicole Niceta, have resigned from her positions, leaving her a little more alone in Washington.
These days some kind of reaction has been expected on her part although, for the moment, she still does not utter a single word. Nor through her social networks. On some occasion Melania has shown her discrepancies, or at least it has been understood that way, regarding some aspects of the politics of her husband. This time, however, the same cannot be said. Last December, she supported the president in his first rally after the electoral defeat: "Do not allow his voices to be silenced," Melania said in an unusual speech while she praised what Trump has achieved in his term.
January 20 will be the inauguration session of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States, and Trump has already said that he will not attend, making history again as one of the few American presidents who have not replaced his successor. 11 days are left for that time. And it is not yet known what may happen until then.
