The latest on the 2020 presidential election: Michelle Obama lashes out at President Donald Trump in a scathing new video accusing him of leading "willful mismanagement" of the coronavirus and racism crisis. She asks African American and youth voters not to "waste" their votes.
In the video, released Tuesday by the Joe Biden campaign, Obama notes that more Americans have died from COVID-19 than in the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam and Korea combined. She charges that regarding the virus, "our commander-in-chief, sadly, has been missing in action."
Obama accuses Trump of being "racist" when he and other Republicans are "lying about how minorities will destroy the suburbs," which she says is intended to "distract from their staggering failures."
She also asks undecided voters to "think of all those people like me and my ancestors" and feel some empathy for what it is like to "walk through your own country scared that someone's unwarranted fear might put you in danger."
And to the African American and brown voters, and to all the young voters, who are considering not participating in the elections, Mrs. Obama urges them to make a plan to vote, because “we do not have the luxury of assuming that things are going to work out. . "
