One of the detainees is Jacob Anthony Chansley, the man who appeared with a horned cap and painted face.

Three of the pro-Trump protesters whose image went around the world after their violent raid on the Capitol on Wednesday, including the man in the bison horned hat, were arrested and charged with various charges, they announced this Saturday (01.09.2021) The authorities.

Jacob Anthony Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, and two other activists, including a newly elected state official, were indicted in federal court in connection with the violence, according to the District of Columbia attorney's office.

Chansley was charged with "knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or land without legal authority, and for violent entry and disorderly conduct on the Capitol premises."

The statement indicates that Chansley was "the man seen in media coverage who entered the Capitol building dressed in horns, a bearskin headdress, red, white and blue face paint, shirtless and brown pants," while "He carried a long spear with the American flag attached."

Chansley's resemblance to singer Jay Kay quickly spread through social media, prompting the Jamiroquai leader to issue a statement clarifying that he was not even close to Washington when the mob of Trump supporters invaded the Capitol.

"Digital soldier"

Chansley describes himself as a "digital soldier" of the far-right conspiracy theory QAnon, which claims that Trump is waging a secret war against a global liberal cult of Satan-worshiping pedophiles.

The other two men are Derrick Evans, 35, newly elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates, and Adam Johnson, 36, from Florida.

However, several of the invaders did not make it very difficult for the authorities to identify them. According to the prosecutor's office, in one of the videos Evans can be seen yelling as he crosses the threshold of the Capitol: "We are in, we are in! Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!"

Johnson, on his side, was identified by the photos that circulated around the world in which he is seen smiling and waving at the camera as he walks through the Capitol Rotunda with the lectern of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nacy Pelosi, as a trophy.

The Justice Department already announced on Friday that 15 other people had been charged in the raid, including a man accused of possessing explosives.
