The young man is a central midfielder for the Arlington Soccer Association.

Donald Trump is a sports fanatic. He likes to watch them and even took it upon himself to build a myth around his supposed great qualities for baseball when he was in high school. So much so that he went on to say that he had been followed by the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. His youngest son, Barron, appears to be following in his footsteps, though not with a bat in her hands, but with a ball at her feet.

The young Trump serves in the Under 14 category of the Arlington Soccer Association, a youth team based in the county separated from Washington DC by the Potomac River and known for being the headquarters of the military cemetery in which more than 300,000 soldiers lie.

Although his father acceded to the White House in January 2017, Barron continued to live in New York until June so that he could finish the school year at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in Manhattan. When he moved, he not only changed schools (he began attending St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac), but he began playing soccer at the DC United youth academy.

Barron Trump's profile on the website of his team, the Arlington Soccer Association.

For a year, he represented the U-12 team of the team whose professional franchise works in Major League Soccer and has the Argentines Federico Higuaín and Yamil Asad on its roster. In that season, Trump Junior played 24 games.

In mid-2018, he crossed the Potomac to play for Arlington Soccer Association, an institution founded in 1970, which has 90 men's and women's teams of different categories, involving more than 9,000 boys from the county and nearby communities.

In his two years in Arlington, the activity of the adolescent son of the American president was much less: he played just four games with the U-13 team in the 2018/19 season and one with the U-14 in the 2019/20, which was left unfinished as consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.

His last call-up was on March 7, when his team defeated Bethesda SC on the road in the second day of the North Conference East Conference North American Development Academies tournament. That day he did not play even a minute.

The young Trump works as a central midfielder, despite the fact that his physique seems more suitable for another position (and even for another sport): heir to the genes of his parents Donald (he measures 1.91 meters) and Melania (1.80 meters ), the 14-year-old is already a couple of centimeters taller than his father.

His father is not convinced by the love of his son. “A lot of people, including myself, thought that soccer would never come to this country, but it is advancing rapidly. (Barron) plays a lot, he likes it. But it is a dangerous sport, really tough. It would be difficult for me if he wanted to continue practicing it, ”said the president in February 2019, when asked about it.

Anyway, so far Trump has not put any impediments and has even given his son a football fan some tastes. On July 16, 2018, a day after the end of the World Cup in Russia, he met his peer Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, who presented him with an official tournament ball. "That will go to my son Barron," explained the mogul.

A couple of months later, in December 2018, Barron met and spoke with English forward Wayne Rooney, who at the time was working for DC United and who was invited by the president to the Christmas party at the Casa White

In July last year, the young man was at the Metflife Stadium in New Jersey watching the friendly that Atlético de Madrid beat Real Madrid 7-3 for the International Champions Cup.

Born on March 20, 2006, Barron is Trump's fifth child and the only one of him alongside his current wife, Melania Knauss. The other four, quite older, are Donald John (42 years old), Ivanka (38) and Eric (36), all products of his marriage to Ivana Zelníčková; and Tiffany (26), born during her bond with Marla Maples.
