Donald Trump's wife younger than his daughter, Ivanka Trump?
Melania Trump has returned home after she and her husband, Donald Trump, 72, made a state visit to the UK last week. Although they have been married for 14-years, Melania is noticeably younger than the US President. Is she older or younger than her step-daughter, Ivanka Trump?
Melania Trump and Donald Trump first met in 1998 and have been together ever since. The couple married in a lavish ceremony which took place at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago estate on 22 January 2005. After the wedding, the former model became the step-mum of Donald’s children, Donald Trump Jr, 41, Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, 35, and Tiffany Trump, 25. Donald Trump is much older than his wife which makes his children from two previous marriages a similar age to Melania.
The large age gap means Melania is only eight-years older than her eldest step-son, Donald Trump Jr.
Her step-daughter, Ivanka Trump, was born on 30 October 1981 and is only 11-years younger than Melania.
Despite the large age gap, Melania and Donald have stayed together since they first met at a party 21-years-ago.
Since getting married, they have had one son together, Barron Trump, 13.
The couple have acted as the President and First Lady of the United States since 2016.
Ivanka and Melania are likely to work very closely together, as Ivanka is a senior advisor to her dad.
The Trumps visited the UK from 3 June to 5 June this year as part of a state visit to the UK.
During this time, Melania and Donald were spotted meeting with members of the Royal Family and the Prime Minister.
They then headed to Ireland for a brief meeting with the Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar, and left a note for the country when they left.
Melania’s handwriting on the note revealed she had picked up the trait of being “stubborn” from her husband.
After they visited Ireland, the couple travelled to France to attend a service to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
For the event, Melania showed her respects in a black fit-and-flare coat which she wore fastened up over a black dress.

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.
This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.
Religion
After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.
She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.
Career
Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.
Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.
Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.
She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.
Charity
On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.
There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
