"We did what we were here for, and more." In this speech of about twenty minutes, Donald Trump gives a very positive assessment of his four years at the head of the world's leading power.
After having greeted his entire administration as well as his wife Melania, he said how "a great honor" this presidency has been for him. Throughout his speech, he also continues to praise his economic record and his very good results.
Good result also concerning the Covid-19: "We did not produce a vaccine, but two", he affirms.
In this speech, which is addressed especially to the Americans, he also salutes his security record, "the United States has never been so sure (...) and the whole world respects us".
Regarding the relations of the United States with the rest of the world, Donald Trump considers that "the threats were numerous (...) but that the greatest danger would have been the loss of confidence in us".
Donald Trump addresses one of the subjects that agitated his mandate: relations with Beijing. "We have re-energized our alliances and united the nations of the world to face China like never before."
"I am especially proud to be the first president in decades not to start a new war," he also explains.
