Is Donald Trump 6'3 "and 239 pounds?

Following the release of the details of President Trump's first medical exam, the internet is predictably awash with claims that his weight, and possibly his height, are being misreported.

Can they be verified with independent data?

For example, a comment in BoingBoing states that

Jeb Bush is apparently 6'3 ". Donald Trump appears to be several inches shorter in each picture of them put together.

Along with this image:

Is Donald Trump 6'3 "and 239 pounds?

Now, I'll be the first to admit that BoingBoing has anti-Trump leanings. Like most of the commenters of him BUT is there any other photograph of him standing next to objects of known size that can be used to accurately determine his height (somehow taking into account his shoes )?

If so, is there a reasonably accurate method of examining photographs of a person of known height, estimating his body dimensions, and stating whether or not he probably weighs (or cannot) in the 239-pound range?

Doors, for example, are standard height. I was referring to the buildings, but there are enough photos of him on the Airfroce gate. Or standing next to people of known height. Of vehicles, or ... surely the ls is endless? You don't need a ruler on the picture (other than the chair), just something that has been accurately measured.

I think we split our hairs here. Feel free to use your wording to answer the question. And less use something like "beyond a reasonable doubt" instead of 100% to 600 decimal places.

"A Doctor's Assessment of Donald Trump's Health Is 'Excellent'", NYTimes (2016-09-18): "Mr. Trump is 6ft 3in, 236lb." This could be a better source of the claim.

3 pounds at 1.3 kg, which is in the range of normal fluctuations for 4-5 months from that evaluation.

I'm 6'2 "and 239. Donald Trump is MUCH fatter than I am. The weight is definitely wrong, in my opinion.

Bottom line: Trump was never 6'3 "(190.5cm) and his weight is probably taller than 239lb (108kg). He is much more likely to be 6 'and obese.

Trump is definitely taller than average and was routinely photographed with people in his youth, suggesting that 6'2 "(188 cm) was probably a reasonable estimate of his height. CelebHeights, which estimates heights and identifies which celebrities They use elevators / exaggerate their height, put their maximum height at 6'2 "(188cm).

Remember, most people will lose at least an inch or two (2-5 cm) in height as they age, so a 71-year-old man is unlikely to be the same height as he was in his 20s. .

The height of Donald Trump:

6 1/2 feet (184.2 cm)

Maximum height was 6 ft 2 (188 cm)

He is quoted as saying in The New York Times, "Hi, I'm 6 foot 3". In his 2016 medical files, his doctor claimed that he was "6'3" tall and weighed 236 pounds, although when he was photographed with a 6-foot-2 athlete, that statement seems incredible. Trump's own driver's license listed him at 6ft 2.

It seems clear that from recent photos, Trump cannot be taller than 6'1 "(185cm) and is more likely to be about 6 '(183cm). For example, these photos with Obama listed at 6' 1"

Trump's weight is more difficult to pin down, as he wears clothing as he hides the girth from him (because weight will fluctuate when he campaigns). He is clearly overweight even with this visual aid. It is much more likely that he is obese, since he is on the record saying that he does not like to exercise and that he does not carry a lot of muscle, but he looks heavy.

Recordings of the Dr. Oz, Sorry, Show scam caused audience members to quote two different figures for Trump's weight during his appearance.

Trump said that he currently weighs 236 pounds, according to two audience members. Other reports had audience members giving conflicting readings, with some saying Trump put his weight at 267 pounds.

Therefore, he could weigh 267 pounds (121 kg), which is not incredible. If his weight was 239lbs (108kg), then combined with his revised height that can be easily evidenced, he is obese. At the heaviest weight he would be class II obese.

For what it's worth, The Guardian quotes a comparison to a sportsman (who unlike politicians seems less likely to have his height "altered"):

One image shows Trump standing next to former baseball player Alex Rodriguez, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall. Rodriguez looked considerably taller.

(There is a photo in the article, but it is copyrighted by Getty, and they are very sensitive to unauthorized reproductions of their products, so head to The Guardian if you want to see it.)

The Guardian article also mentions that Trump's height on his driver's license was 6'2 "not 6'3". I'm not sure how correct that is because when I got a US driver's license, I just stated my height, no one measured it (they could have verified with my passport, but they didn't).

The Guardian also says:

A photo of Trump alongside Barack Obama, taken a year ago at Trump's inauguration, seemed to show that the couple were the same height. Obama is 6 feet 1 inch.

The Guardian article also talks about the weight of Trumps compared to athletes of similar height, but this is probably less relevant in terms of health because the differences in the musculature are evident and therefore so is the percentage of body fat.

There is an AOL article that seems to clarify 6'2 "vs 6'3" as 6'2.5 ", and also says that Trumps' doctor suggested that he lose some weight:

Weighing in at 75 inches tall, or 6'2.5 ", and weighing in at 239 pounds, Trump's weight places him on a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30.3, or, if his height rounds out to 6 ' 3 ", 29.9.

Based on Trump's BMI, he may need to consider losing 39 pounds, which would put him at a BMI of 25, right on the edge of "normal weight" and "overweight" for someone his height.

[discusses that BMI can be a poor measure of body fat]

Dr. Jackson said in Tuesday's briefing that after conducting last week's physical exam, he and the president set a goal of losing between 10 and 15 pounds. If he lets go of his notorious McDonald's habit, that goal should be easily achievable.

Since weight varies much more than height over time in most people, I think it would be much more difficult to confirm Trump's current weight ...
