Before leaving the White House on January 20, former US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, a Trump adviser confirmed on Monday.
The couple are said to have received a second dose in Florida, where they have settled. It is not determined why the Trump spouses' vaccinations have been kept secret for so long. In September, Donald and Melania Trump had contracted Covid-19. The president had received experimental treatment.
Donald Trump on Sunday urged his supporters to be vaccinated, while many pro-Trump in the United States are skeptical about the vaccination.
The US has already vaccinated 50 million people with at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, official figures showed on Monday. More than 25 million people are already fully vaccinated with the second dose.
