Furious at the failures of his appeals, Donald Trump refuses to pay Rudy Giuliani

Unhappy with his personal lawyer, who failed to reverse his defeat in the presidential election, Donald Trump refuses to pay the fees billed by Rudy Giuliani.

During the last days of his mandate, Donald Trump is more isolated than ever. Many members of his administration resigned after the invasion of Capitol Hill by some of its Protestants, the Republican Party no longer shows full loyalty to the president under whom the House and Senate have tipped Democrats. And the outgoing president is faced with failures: those, many, of his legal team who tried to reverse the result of the presidential election.

With more than 60 defeats in several jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court, ridiculous scenes (like confusing the luxury hotel Four Seasons with the landscaper Four Seasons Total Landscaping to organize a press conference or a hair dye incident there) and a strategy unable to prove accusations of massive electoral fraud, Donald Trump has found a person to blame: Rudy Giuliani. The former New York mayor is his personal advocate, loyal among the faithful who supported his baseless conviction of fraud and made him believe that there was still hope. According to the "Washington Post", the billionaire's anger passes through the checkbook: he gave the order not to pay the 20,000 dollars in daily fees billed by Rudy Giuliani and to refuse the reimbursement of his travel expenses through the country.

And this is not the only problem for the former Republican elected official: the remarks he made in front of supporters of Donald Trump on Wednesday, shortly before some of them burst on Capitol Hill, resonate particularly. He called for a "judicial duel" to decide who would win the election that Joe Biden largely won in the polls, winning in particular in the Republican strongholds of Arizona and Georgia. "I am ready to stake my reputation, the president is ready to stake his reputation on the fact that this election was fraudulent", he assured. He does not think so well said, since the New York Bar has received "hundreds of complaints in recent months" and has started a process that could lead to his expulsion. The former mayor of New York tried to explain it, referring to a journalist from The Hill the "very famous documentary" ...

"Game of Thrones": "I was referring to this kind of trial that has took place for Tyrion, in the very famous documentary about medieval England. When Tyrion, who is a very small man, is charged with murder. He didn't commit this murder, he can't defend himself, and he hires a champion to defend him. " The analogy with the series is not a very happy one, however, since the champion chosen by Tyrion to defend him ... dies and loses, condemning the dwarf.

At the origin of the first indictment of Trump

The hiring of Rudy Giuliani by Donald Trump had already led, indirectly, to his first indictment. Believing that Hunter Biden, the eldest son of the former vice president, had taken his father's position to a Ukrainian oligarch he worked for, Rudy Giuliani conducted an investigation that resulted in no evidence. This prompted the indictment of two of his collaborators for violating campaign finance laws. Worse: following the intuition of his personal lawyer, Donald Trump went so far as to ask his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation against Hunter Biden, putting on hold a $ 400 million aid voted by Congress American.

The request, which had been reported by a whistleblower, had led Democrats, a majority in the House of Representatives, to indict Donald Trump for "abuse of power" and "hindering the smooth running of Congress. He had only escaped impeachment thanks to the bloc formed by the Republicans in the Senate.
