Kate Middleton: this symbolic title she will inherit when George becomes king

Kate Middleton will never be queen. At 37, Prince William's wife currently carries the title of Duchess of Cambridge. Mother of three children, including Prince George who should ascend the throne after her grandfather - Charles, and her father, the coronation of her eldest child will earn her a very specific title in the British royal family.

Now Duchess, Kate Middleton is expected to wear another title if her eldest son, George, ascends to the throne. After the reign of Elizabeth II, who recently showed some signs of fatigue, that of her stepfather Charles and that of William, whom she married in April 2011, it is the big brother of Charlotte and Louis, third in the order of succession to the crown, which is legitimate to become king of England.

If it's not for tomorrow, she's still just a six-year-old, successive coronations will change the titles of Kate, who has just returned from a diplomatic trip to Pakistan. First, when William comes to reign, the Duchess of Cambridge will likely assume the title of Queen Consort, the title usually given to a king's wife. The British Express recalls that this role gives her the same status as the king but a different political power and new responsibilities compared to those which she must currently assume.

In all likelihood, George will be one of the future Kings of England and, if Kate is still alive at her coronation, her title will pass from Queen Consort to Queen Mother, with responsibilities that will remain largely unchanged. This would imply, however, that the parliamentary monarchy is not abolished - and its critics do not hesitate to talk about them - but above all that it survives William (and the subject of mortality makes the royal family tremble). Britain's last queen mother was Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the mother of Elizabeth II, who retained her title for no less than 50 years. Does the title conceal the secrets of longevity?
