Melania and Donald Trump: their marriage contract renegotiated by the First lady

Melania Trump, by only taking the floor on rare occasions, maintains the mystery around her person. In private, the First Lady would know how to elbows when the circumstances require it. According to journalist Mary Jordan, she would not be afraid to bang her fist on the table to get what she wants ... like the revision of her marriage contract.

She has been said to be unhappy in her household and mistreated by her husband. A portrait that would in reality not be at all faithful to Melania Trump, whose features would correspond more to those of a formidable businesswoman than to those of a victim. For the purposes of her book The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, journalist Mary Jordan looked at the ambiguous personality of the First Lady. In the columns of the Washington Post, she describes how this woman, a past master in the art of negotiation, obtained from Donald Trump the revision of her marriage contract.

A real tour de force for which Melania Trump would not have hesitated to blackmail the American president. Following revelations about her husband's infidelities during the presidential campaign, the First Lady initially refused to move into the White House. Using the pretext of not wanting to change her son Barron of school during the year, she would have actually put pressure on Donald Trump "to modify the financial arrangement" provided for in the event of a divorce.

Melania and Donald Trump: their marriage contract renegotiated by the First lady

A well-run business

When they met in 1998, Donald Trump had already experienced two divorces. Worried about his fortune, he quickly sets his conditions. He will agree to marry her if, and only if, she signs a marriage contract. A clause that Melania accepts then ... for a while at least.

Having become First Lady, she knows that she can now get more from the billionaire, especially with regard to their son, Barron. Concerned that her child would not be left out of the family business in the event of a divorce, Melania made the president promise in black and white that he would be treated as an equal with his three eldest children. A request to which the president, eager to ease tensions, will eventually accede.
