Michael Jackson Thriller Named Best Album of All Time

Michael Jackson topped a ranking organized by MTV with his album Thriller released in 1982. The number of sales of this album has never been equaled to date.

Regarding the Thriller album, which was produced by Quincy Jones and included some of Michael Jackson's best tracks like Billie Jean, Beat It and The Girl Is Mine, MTV Base presenter Trevor Nelson said: "I don't think this album will ever be matched. There will never be any union between producer and artist, or lyricist and singer at that level. If you look at the way people buy albums today , we can be sure that no album will sell as many copies as Thriller. "

The list, made up of 26 albums released between 1981 and today, was put together by music industry experts, artists, as well as the executives of three UK channels, MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base. Over 40,000 votes were cast by fans who were asked to vote for their favorite album.

Surprisingly, Craig David's Born To Do It album came in second with 12% of the vote, crushing Appetite For Destruction, the Guns N 'Roses' album released in 1987, which came in third.

Craig David, who received more votes than rap and R'n'B stars like Jay-Z and Kanye West, was thrilled with the outcome. He said: "I thank those who voted for Born To Do It and thus voted it second best album of all time. I am very proud, it is a real accomplishment, especially in comparison with the others. albums that make up this top 100! "

British group Radiohead came in fourth with OK Computer followed closely by Nevermind from Nirvana. Oasis has two top 10 albums, (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?, in sixth position and Definitely Maybe, released in 1994, in seventh.

Next comes U2 with The Joshua Tree, the Arctic Monkeys with Whatever People say I Am, That's What I'm Not and finally Amy Winehouse with Back to Black.
