The former first lady of the United States occupies the first position of the list of most loved women, according to data from YouGov. In the male chapter number 1 is for Bill Gates
Former American First Lady Michelle Obama is the most admired woman in the world. Bill Gates, for his part, holds, once again, the title of the most admired man on the planet, as published on Thursday by the international market research and data analysis firm YouGov. While Gates, founder of the technology Microsoft, repeats for the second consecutive year in the first place, Obama has taken the first position from actress Angelina Jolie in 2019, who descends to third in the female category.
After Obama, Oprah Winfrey ranks second in the female category, followed by the actress from Lara Croft's first series: Tomb Raider. Two Brits follow: Queen Elizabeth II in fourth place and Emma Watson, known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, in fifth. Artists dominate the list; 12 of the most admired women are actresses, singers or television presenters, although some like Watson and Jolie also stand out for their humanitarian work.
Every year, YouGov produces a ranking with the most prominent figures at the international level, in their male and female rankings. To do this, this year it has interviewed more than 42,000 people in 41 different countries.

The list of the most admired men contains more people with political, business and sports careers. The top five rated men remain unchanged from last year. Former United States President Barack Obama is in second place, and positions from third to fifth are all Chinese personalities: actor Jackie Chan in third position, President Xi Jinping in fourth and businessman Jack Ma in fifth place.
Only two new men join the rankings in the top 20 this year, both Indian actors: Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan. For their part, among the first 20 women there are five new names. Two of them are married to world leaders: Chinese singer Peng Liyuan, who is married to President Xi Jinping; and the first lady of the United States, Melania Trump. Both occupy the 7th and 19th positions, respectively. They are joined by the Chinese scientist Tu Youyou, in ninth position; Indian actress Sushmita Sen in 17th place and television host Ellen DeGeneres in 15th place.
In addition, Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan have been the biggest gains this year from the past, with both rising three spots to 7th and 17th respectively. In contrast, Indian actress Aishwarya Rai has seen the biggest decline - from 11th to 16th.
