The statue of Melania Trump in her native Slovenia was burned

The statue of the first lady of the United States (US), Melanie Trump, who is none other than the wife of President Donald Trump, was reportedly burned near her hometown in Slovenia. The artist who created the statue, Brad Downey said that the statue was burned on July 4, which is independence day in the US.

Reported by the BBC, Downey said that the scorched statue had been removed the next day. The police are also investigating the burning of the statue. Meanwhile, the White House has not responded to this.

The statue of Donald Trump's wife, which stood since July 2019, was carved from a tree trunk in his hometown on the outskirts of Sevnica, Central Slovenia. The statue depicts the figure of Melania wearing a blue coat similar to the one she wore at her husband's inauguration and waving her hand.

However, the statue of Melanie Trump is actually considered an embarrassment for some residents there. It is even considered to be more similar to the Smurf character, Smurfette.

Downey himself admitted that he really wanted to know who burned the statue and wanted to know what the motive was for the burning.

The statue of Melania Trump was targeted as other statues in the United States were torn down by protesters calling for anti-racism protests after the global Black Lives Matter movement. (trim)
