This is the golden statue of Donald Trump that causes controversy
The real Trump doesn't arrive at the Conservative Political Action Conference until Sunday, February 28, 2021, but the golden Trump arrived two days early.
The statue was the topic of conversation at CPAC, a national gathering of conservative activists, and sparked rumors in the media, some negative. "This golden statue of Trump at CPAC is a perfect metaphor for the state of the Republican Party," Vox wrote, comparing the golden Trump to the biblical golden calf, which was a warning against idolatry.
CPAC kicked off the first day in Orlando, Florida with a list of speakers that included Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, US Senator Ted Cruz, and Donald Trump Jr. The former president speaks Sunday at a conference that is, to some extent, a referendum on whether he will be the standard-bearer for the conservative movement in the future. An opinion poll was carried out to find out the opinions of the attendees on this issue. The results will be available on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

Tommy Zegan, the creator of the play, said he made the golden statue of Trump "about three years ago in reaction to Trump on the toilet seat and baby Trump." He said that he was horrified by those things.
Zegan had just finished making a statue of Brett Favre that is now in the Mississippi Hall of Fame, so he decided to make one of Trump.
"There's one more I'm doing right now that will really piss people off," he said. "It's bronze and it's going to be 24-karat gold." He wants to auction it off and the proceeds will go to Trump's library.
Zegan insists Golden Trump is not an idol
According to Zegan, the golden statue of Trump weighs 200 pounds. It is not really gold; it is chrome.
He said the statue has "all kinds of symbolism."
“The fact that he wears a suit and tie shows that he is a businessman. The red tie represents that he is a Republican. The shorts show that he is a patriot. The sandals mean he should be retired, living the golden years at the beach. He has a wand in his hand, which symbolizes what Obama said: "How are they going to bring all these jobs?" Do you have some kind of magic wand? '"
He said the statue carries the United States Constitution in its right hand to show that Trump is following it.
Another attendee noted that the statue's hands looked like boxing gloves, symbolizing that Trump is "fighting for America," Zegan said, but he didn't build that symbolism on purpose.
"A lot of thought was put into it," he said. He said Trump was sent a video of the statue for his birthday. Zegan also brought the statue to rallies in Florida and Oklahoma.
Zegan said his parents were missionaries and that he was a church youth pastor for years. “I am very familiar with the differences between an idol and a statue. This is not an idol, ”he said.
What is the difference?
“You make sacrifices to one of them, you bow down to him, you pray to him… That's an idol,” Zegan said. "A statue is like a memorial ... of someone who is famous."
