Trump orange? It's for a Swiss cream
The mystery of Donald Trump's orange face is revealed: the American president uses a Swiss cream. And he maybe puts a little bit of it, according to the company that produces it, Blick reveals today. The cosmetic in question is a so-called concealer, a concealer that serves to compensate for dark shadows from the face. According to what was revealed to the Washington Post by former servants, the "commander in chief" uses a product from Bronx Colors, a company based in Hünenberg, in the canton of Zug.
Apparently Trump is particularly careful that the supplies of the cosmetic never run out: in his bedroom there are always two new packages and one already started, according to the revelations of former employees. According to sources, the 73-year-old president uses the cream in such quantities that the collars of his shirts change color regularly and staff have to constantly source new ones. For the Swiss company, the fact that one of its products is used by such a famous person was a surprise, revealed only when reporters of the Washington Post asked for information. "At first I didn't even answer the journalist's questions by email, because I thought it was a joke," explains director Isabelle von Känel in statements reported by Blick. Only when the reporter insisted did she realize that the story was not fake.
The cream in question is the "Boosting Hydrating Concealer - Orange BHC06": it is in the line for women, but can of course also be used by men, says Von Känel. A 10 milliliter tube costs 6.50 euros.
But what does Trump need an orange concealer for? "The cream makes dark circles disappear," explains the 38-year-old. You apply it on the affected parts and then you put in your normal makeup. This should neutralize the colors. But why does the US president appear so orange? "Trump has chosen one of our absolutely leading products, but he puts in a little bit of it."
The businesswoman wonders, among other things, how the president came to an article about him from the company. "Last year we were in fact on the American market, but we stopped the test phase at the beginning of 2019". According to her, Trump's aides are likely buying the cream in Mexico.
Bronx Colors - the name refers to the New York neighborhood intended as a place full of colors and creativity, observes the director - is a Swiss company founded five years ago, but its items are produced all over the world: the one in question it is made in China, a country with which the president is engaged in a commercial tug-of-war.
