Trump speech: Meredith McIver, the real fake author of plagiarism
A new scandal in perspective for Donald Trump? Author Meredith McIver, who denounced herself as responsible for Melania Trump's plagiarized speech, would only be a scapegoat. Of a very particular kind: this author could be a total invention of Donald Trump.
What if the ghostwriter really is a ghost? Meredith McIver, who revealed to be the author responsible for Melania Trump's speech (and therefore for her plagiarism on Michelle Obama) could well be a pure invention of Donald Trump. This is the crazy hypothesis that agitates the sphere of American political observers, pushed in particular by the Facebook and Everipedia profiles of Meredith McIver which seems false (created recently and without friends), and by the bad habits of Donald Trump.
The question of Meredith McIver's existence arises because, in the past, Donald Trump has twice invented people to broadcast his own speeches. The businessman thus pretended to be John Barron (his spokesperson) and John Miller (his press relations manager) in the 1980s. The deception was exposed by People magazine, as well as during a trial during which Donald Trump, under oath, was forced to admit to having used these names "on certain occasions". These names never appeared later in his communication. To save the honor of his wife Melania, the American presidential candidate would therefore be quite capable of placing the weight of plagiarism on a non-existent person, an ideal scapegoat because invented from scratch.
Will Donald Trump manage to prove the existence of Meredith McIver? It is especially likely that the Republican candidate does not embarrass himself in the face of rumors, and only focuses on the presidential race. It is, in any case, not with a scandal near.
