United States. Donald and Melania Trump quietly vaccinated before leaving the White House

The former US president and his wife were vaccinated against Covid-19 in January, while they were still residing in the White House, people around them learned on Monday. Donald Trump had never publicly mentioned his vaccination.

Donald Trump and his wife Melania were quietly vaccinated against the coronavirus in January, days before leaving the White House, an adviser to the former president said on Monday.

The news came the day after the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, where Donald Trump first encouraged people to get vaccinated.

“Everyone should go get vaccinated,” he said during his speech. When the New York Times asked if the former president had received an injection, an adviser replied that the former presidential couple had been vaccinated, in private, a month earlier.

Donald Trump's secretive approach is explained by the fact that a number of his supporters are skeptical of the vaccine.

Public vaccination

Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and former Vice President Mike Pence got their shots in front of television cameras.

While in office, Donald Trump never urged Americans to be injected, with the first vaccines approved shortly after election day.

The adviser did not say whether the billionaire Republican received the two shots of the vaccine in January, or whether the second took place at another time.
