Charles, William or Harry: who is more popular?
A new poll places Prince William ahead of his father, Prince Charles, to succeed Elizabeth II to the throne of England. And Prince Harry is not far away ...
In 2022, Elisabeth II will celebrate her 70 years of reign. An exceptional anniversary which raises the question of his succession. Whether it is Prince Charles who should be crowned king upon his mother's death or sooner if she decides to abdicate, the English would have liked to have had a choice. In a new poll published by the Daily Mirror, the British have indicated that they would indeed like Prince William and not Prince Charles to become king. 47% of those polled gave his name against only 27% for the Prince of Wales.
And this poll also reserves another surprise: Prince Harry comes first in front of Prince William as a potential successor to the throne in the 25/40 category (23% against 22%). A very slight difference which should not help relations between the two brothers. The broadcast of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview further strained matters. Prince William is said to have been saddened by accusations of racism in the royal family brought by Meghan Markle, and by those against his wife, Kate Middleton, who allegedly made the Duchess of Sussex cry before her wedding. A source close to the prince told the magazine "Us Weekly": "William feels that Harry has put on boots too big for him by moving to California, success has gone to his head. He also accused Harry of putting fame above his family after the big interview. "
