Donald Trump has played golf every fourth day since taking office

As John McCain's funeral was taking place in Washington, the President went to one of his golf clubs to hit a few balls.

While many American politicians paid tribute to Senator John McCain in Washington, Donald Trump was conspicuous by his absence: he was playing golf.

The US president was reportedly asked not to attend the funeral oration because of the disagreements that have always been characteristic of McCain's relationship with him. In contrast, her daughter Ivanka Trump attended the ceremony with her husband Jared Kushner, and Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Of his 590 days on the job, Donald Trump used 196 to visit his various properties and 153 to his golf courses (nearly one in four days), according to figures from NBC television.

During his first 100 days in power, the American president had already shown a certain taste for golf: 19 days. By way of comparison, note that Barack Obama had only been there once during the same period of his first term.
