NBC suspends 'Saturday Night Live' writer for mocking Barron Trump
Katie Rich tweeted that the son of the US president "will be the first school shooter in this country." Monica Lewinsky has come out in defense of the young man
A Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich has been suspended from her job by NBC after she tweeted that Barron Trump, Donald Trump's 10-year-old son, "will be the first school shooter in this country." The writer later deleted the message and apologized, but for the American network that broadcasts the comic gags program it has not been enough and they have decided to take serious measures.
"I sincerely apologize for that insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions and offensive words. It was inexcusable and I am very sorry," Rich wrote again on the bird's social network.
The scriptwriter has deleted all of her Twitter tweets, only the one about the apology remains. The 14,400 followers of her and the verified account suggest, from the operation of the social network, that before this scandal Rich was an active user on the platform.

As if the presidential transition in the United States is not being complicated in itself, Monica Lewinsky, 43, has become embroiled in this matter. The former White House intern between 1995 and 1996, during Bill Clinton's second term and who was about to end the Democratic presidency for his affair, is a great activist against bullying, which is why she decided to come out in defense of Barron Trump: "All children should be protected from bullying and teasing. Even Barron Trump. Let's get better than this," he wrote on Twitter, attaching a Bustle blog post titled Funny Tweets About Barron Trump At The Inauguration Are Not Appropriate .
Her defense is in addition to that already made by the daughter of former President Clinton. Chelsea Clinton came out in defense of the young Trumps last Sunday. "Barron Trump deserves the opportunity that every child deserves to have a childhood," the former first daughter wrote on her Twitter account - although in her message she also took the opportunity to criticize the policies of the new US president. . Political differences, in this case, do not prevent these two women from wanting to defend a child from mockery on social networks and the media.
