Only 30 people will be able to attend Prince Philip's funeral this Saturday, April 17. A very small committee due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The funeral ceremony for Prince Philip, who passed away "peacefully" on Friday April 9, will take place in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on this day, Saturday April 17. The final guest list was expected and was finally unveiled by The Sun on April 13. A list without much surprise made up of senior executives of the royal family. We naturally find the Cambridge spouses, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton. But not their children. George (7 years old), Charlotte (5 years old) and Louis (2 years old) will not attend the event, considered too young to join the procession which will follow the coffin of the Duke of Edinburgh, in the grounds of the castle of Windsor.
Mourning, Queen Elizabeth II will also have to do without the presence of Meghan Markle. Prince Harry will indeed be alone at the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip. Pregnant with their second child, his wife had to ignore it and stay in Santa-Barbara, on the orders of her doctors. The Duchess of Sussex would also have preferred not to be the center of attention during this event dedicated to the Duke of Edinburgh.
