US Presidential. Trump, the worst president in US history?

In the opinion of many historians, Trump's United States is in worse shape than he found it at the start of his tenure. What to appear in the list of the worst tenants of the White House.

Donald Trump is the worst president I have ever known, there is no question. For a brief moment I thought to myself that he might not be as bad as Richard Nixon who, dishonored, resigned in 1974. But at least Nixon, when he wasn't busy covering up the robbery of the Watergate or to impose tax checks on his political enemies, created the Environmental Protection Agency and signed the Endangered Species Act.

Therefore, from my point of view, the discussion is closed. Which leads us to another question: Is Trump the worst president in the history of the United States? The answer is not evident.

Is it worse to be corrupt or incompetent?

Among the presidents generally considered to be the worst before Trump entered the competition are James Buchanan, who in the late 1850s took an extreme stance in favor of slavery; Warren Harding, head of an incompetent government in power in the 1920s during the Teapot Dome oil corruption scandal; Andrew Johnson, who sabotaged post-Civil War reconstruction; and Franklin Pierce who, in the 1850s, had been “the servile instrument of men worse than himself […] always quick to carry out the tasks entrusted to him by the slave rulers”, to use the words of one of his successors in the White House, Theodore Roosevelt.

And we have had nearly 50 presidents, who have succeeded each other for more than two centuries. It didn't take long for me to realize that it was futile of me trying to figure out which one had been the worst of them.
