Angelina Jolie announces the end of her acting career
On the occasion of the promotion of Invincible, his new film as a director, Brad Pitt's wife announced that she would end her acting career soon.
Hollywood star Angelina Jolie explained to the Australian press that she wanted to end her acting career after a few more films to devote herself entirely to directing. Brad Pitt's wife traveled to Australia this week to defend his latest film Invincible, on the occasion of its world premiere on the island continent where it was filmed.
"I'm going to do a few more (movies)" as an actress "but I'd be happy to drop that at some point," the star told the Sydney Morning Herald in an interview posted online Thursday. “I love directing, I'm much happier as a director,” she added. “I like to follow a project from start to finish. I like to spend two years on a subject and learn things about it. I like to be mentally pushed to have to learn so much and to be a part of every aspect of production. ”
Invincible (Unbroken in English) is taken from the story of an American athlete, Louis Zamperini, who became a lieutenant in the US Air Force and was taken prisoner of war by the Japanese during World War II. Angelina Jolie is currently filming By the Sea, her third film, in which she stars alongside Brad Pitt. “Directing myself was very hard, directing him (Brad Pitt) was a challenge and doing really heavy dramatic scenes with him was difficult,” she said.
