Bill and Melinda Gates divorce after 27 years of marriage

"After much thought and hard work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage," the two said in a statement posted on Twitter. "We raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works around the world to enable all people to lead healthy and productive lives."
Bill Gates is the fourth richest person in the world. Melinda Gates, a former Microsoft executive who married Bill in 1994, has become an outspoken advocate for global health and equality for women around the world as co-director of the foundation.
