According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal, Bill Gates had an affair 20 years ago during his long stint with the company.
The rumors about the divorce between Bill Gates and Melinda Gates grow as the days go by. Recently, it became known that the Microsoft board opened an investigation into Bill Gates for an affair with an employee of the software company before they announced their divorce. A spokesperson for Bill Gates told the same publication that indeed, he did have an affair with an employee 20 years ago, that it ended in a "friendly" manner and that the billionaire's resignation would have nothing to do with it.
On the other hand, the New York Times claimed that Microsoft had made the decision based on these same facts: "Mr. Gates maintained a reputation for questionable conduct in work-related settings." At the same time, he assured that Bill Gates approached several women who worked for the company and for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, one of the largest and with the most programs and money in the world. At some point in their relationship, both stated that they had a lot of difficulty separating work from personal life.
Bill and Melinda were married in 1994, they were married for 27 years and have three children: Jennifer, Phoebe and Rory. He is currently 64 years old and she is 56.
