CNN reports that Melania Trump is happy and relaxed since leaving the White House
The former first lady is in Mar-a-Lago and "rarely interacts with her husband's staff" and frequently uses the spa, sources say
Melania Trump is reportedly "happy and relaxed" with life after the White House, and is keeping quiet, according to people familiar with the former first lady.
In fact, Mrs. Trump's life in Mar-a-Lago is believed to be not much different than that of four years in Washington, DC, when she kept a low profile, CNN reported Wednesday.
She is believed to be in favor of the South Florida resort where the Trumps reside, and that she goes unnoticed, making no official public appearances.
And despite maintaining a staffed office and a presidential-style seal, CNN reported, "she continues to do what she wants when she wants and is not bound by the rules of conventional post-first lady duties."
Three people familiar with her appearances at dinner with the former president described Melania as "happy and relaxed", saying that she frequently greets and smiles at other diners.
During the day, she supposedly visits the Mar-a-Lago spa for treatments, and sometimes makes a second visit.
"She is not present at Mar-a-Lago at all," a person familiar with the former first couple told CNN. She "She does not mix with people and rarely interacts with her husband's staff."
In the afternoons, she reportedly spends time with the couple's 15-year-old son, Barron, and often dines with her parents, or Trump, in the evenings.
Trump infamously remained living in Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York, for months after Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017, and lived in a suite of separate rooms during the time the couple were in the White House.
CNN also reported in December that Melania was eager to leave the White House and "just wants to go home."
By comparison, her husband has made several appearances in the media and in person after leaving office in January.
