Justin Bieber's popular 'Baby' video is at risk of being removed from YouTube
- The clip received a total of 1,569,251 votes against until noon this Thursday, compared to 784,923 in favor.
- YouTube uses an algorithm that removes from its system those videos that users vote negatively in mass.
- Justin Bieber fans are campaigning on social media to prevent the clip from disappearing from the video portal.
The clip of Baby, Justin Bieber's biggest musical hit to date, could have the hours counted on the YouTube video server. And all due to a sophisticated algorithm system that allows users to comment on its content.
This Thursday, the YouTube counter indicated that the official Baby video had collected a greater number of negative votes (users have selected the "I don't like" button after looking at the images) than positive. Specifically, at 11:30 a.m. the number of Internet users who had indicated that they had liked the clip was 784,923, compared to those who had expressed the opposite and that they added practically double (1,569,251).
This can be decisive on YouTube, a site that tends to remove content based on the reception it has on the platform.
But even if its elimination is up in the air, chances are that the blood will not reach the river and the teen idol can continue to set the pace from the most popular video site.
Apparently, as it is an official video of the singer, the record company would always be informed before the deletion of the clip, and it would even need his permission. A consent that, with all certainty, will not arrive.
Campaign against Bieber
Meanwhile, Bieber fans are on the brink of collapse on Twitter. With the hashtag #dontdeletebaby, the followers of Justin Bieber ask the rest of the fans to register on YouTube and hit the 'Like' button on the singer's video to ensure that YouTube does not remove the video.
Other more radical comments warn the platform that if they decide to withdraw 'Baby' they will boycott the platform. "Dear YouTube, the roses are red, the violets are blue, if you delete Baby 10 million girls we will attack you", comments one of the fans by way of poetry in English. Others, on the other hand, appeal to the displeasure that the singer would take if the video were withdrawn. "#dontdeletebaby because Justin Bieber would be" very sad, "he says.
Despite the barrage of comments on Twitter, we will have to wait for YouTube's decision on the matter.
